How should I prepare for electrolysis session?

Drink plenty of water before your appointment. This will help keep skin moist and make epilation easier. Avoid caffeine as this will make you more sensitive. If you feel you are sensitive, take Advil one hour prior to appointment.

What should I do after my appointment?
Keep area dry and clean. Avoid touching area. Apply alcohol or Witch Hazel. Avoid creams or lotions that night. You should be able to go back to your normal routine the following day. If you have any concerns, call our office.

Is electrolysis painful?
We are using current so you will feel it. The current can be adjusted to your tolerance level. An anesthetic numbing spray is available upon request.

How often should I schedule electrolysis sessions?
Each person is individual. We aim to first clear the area and then sessions are scheduled to keep the area clean. Treatments are needed more frequent in the beginning. As we progress, sessions are of shorter duration and less frequent.

What can I do in between sessions if hairs grow in?
Cutting the hairs with a small rounded scissor is ideal. If not possible, bleaching, using a depilatory or shaving the area might be needed. We can advise you on which method will fit your lifestyle.
